NFL: Hurting 'Hawks add WR Colbert

WR Keary Colbert has been acquired by the Seahawks, who will send a late-round draft pick to Denver, according to FoxSports.com. A high priority free-agent signing for the Broncos in the offseason, Colbert struggled to distinguish himself among the Broncos’ receiving corps. But in Seattle he joins a receiving corps currently minus five of the top six players on the depth chart, and even backup QB Seneca Wallace was going to play the position before he, too, was injured Sunday. Colbert agreed to a three-year, $7.2 million deal with Denver that reportedly includes a $2.5 million signing bonus. Colbert, whose numbers declined the past three seasons after a stellar rookie year with Carolina, became expendable with the emergence of rookie Eddie Royal along with veterans Brandon Marshall, Darrell Jackson and Brandon Stokley.
